This is an authentic original 2006 theatrical advance poster for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, the brutal prequel to the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake.

The poster features an ominous silhouette of Leatherface carrying his chainsaw, surrounded by distressed black-and-gold artwork and the haunting advance tagline:

“WITNESS THE BIRTH OF FEAR.”

This exact artwork is documented as the U.S. Advance Style, issued as a double-sided rolled 27" x 40" theatrical one-sheet.

IMP Awards documents this poster design in June 2006, confirming 2006 as the correct poster-release year, and credits the design to The Cimarron Group.

Good to Very Good Vintage Condition

Based specifically on the photographs, this poster presents very strongly overall but has one condition issue that needs to be clearly disclosed.

The poster shows:

• Strong black-and-gold color and contrast
• Excellent central Leatherface artwork
• No traditional fold lines
• Rolled theatrical format
• No visible pinholes
• Light handling / edge wear
• Minor edge waviness and small perimeter imperfections
• A noticeable vertical tear extending upward from the bottom edge near the center of the poster, through the website area
• Additional light surface and edge handling consistent with age and storage

The bottom-edge tear is clearly shown in the close-up photographs and should be disclosed prominently. Fortunately, it occurs in the lower border / website area rather than through Leatherface or the primary title artwork, so the poster still displays extremely well.

I would not describe this copy as Excellent or Near Mint because of that tear.

The silver pieces visible in the photographs are magnets used only to hold the poster flat for photography. They do not puncture the poster.

eBay Condition Recommendation: PRE-OWNED / USED

For this copy, Used / Pre-Owned is unquestionably the correct eBay classification. The tear would make a “New” classification difficult to defend even if the poster itself was never theatrically displayed.
