A highly colorful original theatrical advertising poster for Warner Bros. Pictures’ 2014 animated hit The Lego Movie, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
This action-packed design features Emmet running front and center, surrounded by an enormous lineup of characters from the film including Batman, Wyldstyle, Vitruvius, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Unikitty, Superman, Benny and Lord Business.
Above the characters is the large brick-built THE LEGO MOVIE logo, while the top carries the campaign tagline:
“The Story of a Nobody Who Saved Everybody”
The bottom announces:
“ASSEMBLING FEBRUARY 7”
along with:
“SEE IT IN realD 3D”
This is a particularly strong display design because it brings together many of the movie’s most recognizable characters rather than focusing on a single character. The theatrical campaign included numerous individual character posters, teasers and ensemble designs, making the full-cast artwork especially appealing for a LEGO collection. IMP Awards documents the extensive official poster campaign created for the film.
The film featured an unusually strong voice cast led by Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Alison Brie, Charlie Day and Nick Offerman.
The poster also includes the Warner Bros. Pictures, LEGO, Village Roadshow Pictures and RealD 3D theatrical markings and is associated with the movie’s February 7, 2014 release campaign.
