DESCRIPTION
This is an original 1995 U.S. theatrical movie poster for Richard III, director Richard Loncraine’s acclaimed reimagining of Shakespeare’s historical tragedy.
The film moves Shakespeare’s story into an alternate 1930s-style fascist Britain, giving the production a striking military and political visual aesthetic.
The poster features large portraits of Annette Bening, Ian McKellen, and Robert Downey Jr., with period aircraft, flames, political demonstrators, and the film’s alternate-history architecture below them. The bold red title is accompanied by the tagline:
“Power Conquers All.”
IMP Awards documents this artwork as one of the official 1995 theatrical poster designs and confirms the “Power conquers all” tagline.
The film features a particularly strong ensemble cast, including Ian McKellen, Annette Bening, Jim Broadbent, Robert Downey Jr., Nigel Hawthorne, Kristin Scott Thomas, Maggie Smith, and John Wood.
This is an original studio-issued theatrical poster, not a reproduction or modern decorative print.
The exact poster shown in the photographs is the poster the buyer will receive.
