This is an authentic original Walt Disney theatrical advance poster for the 2003 animated feature Piglet's Big Movie. This distinctive design is documented by major poster sources as an original 27" x 40", double-sided, rolled advance one-sheet. Heritage Auctions specifically identifies the 2003 Piglet's Big Movie theatrical poster as a DS Advance One Sheet, while current specialist listings likewise identify original examples as 27x40, double-sided and rolled.

The artwork is one of the best aspects of this poster. Rather than using a traditional full-character composition, Disney created a playful minimalist teaser design centered almost entirely on Piglet's oversized pink backside and signature curled tail. The small Winnie the Pooh and Piglet character artwork incorporated into the BIG title completes the design.

The tagline reads:

“A tale you'll never forget.”

An especially interesting collector detail is the bottom theatrical copy reading “Only in theatres April 2003.” Disney's official records show the U.S. theatrical release ultimately occurred on March 21, 2003, indicating this is an early advance campaign piece carrying pre-release dating, rather than the later standard theatrical artwork.

The poster artwork itself is cataloged in the 2003 poster campaign, and the design is credited to BLT Communications.

The film was directed by Francis Glebas and features John Fiedler as Piglet, with Jim Cummings as Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, along with the familiar Hundred Acre Wood characters.

For a Disney collector, this one has a particularly good combination of attributes: Walt Disney theatrical issue, Winnie the Pooh franchise, Piglet-focused artwork, advance/teaser campaign design, full-size 27x40 one-sheet format, double-sided theatrical printing, and early-2000s Disney animation nostalgia.

CONDITION

VERY FINE / EXCELLENT DISPLAY CONDITION

Your copy presents very strongly overall, particularly considering it is now more than 20 years old.

From the photographs, I see primarily minor storage and handling characteristics rather than significant damage:

  • Light waviness/curling along portions of the outer edges from rolled storage
  • Minor corner and edge handling
  • A few very small surface/handling impressions visible primarily under angled lighting
  • Clean, bright white lower field
  • Strong saturated pink artwork with excellent color
  • No traditional fold lines
  • No visible pinholes
  • No tape or adhesive residue apparent
  • No significant tears through the artwork
  • No major staining or discoloration
  • Never folded
  • Excellent overall presentation for framing

The center artwork is especially clean, and the large uninterrupted pink field—which tends to reveal defects easily—looks quite strong in your close-up photographs.

The metal pieces visible in the photographs are magnets used only to hold the poster flat while photographing it. They do not puncture or alter the poster.

The photographs show the exact poster being offered and should be reviewed carefully as part of the condition description.

SHIPPING

The poster will be carefully protected and shipped rolled in a rigid poster tube.

It will never be folded for shipment.
