This is an authentic original 1996 U.S. theatrical one-sheet poster for Harold Ramis' comedy Multiplicity, starring Michael Keaton and Andie MacDowell. A specialist poster dealer documents this exact format as an original 27" x 40", single-sided, rolled U.S. one-sheet, while IMP Awards catalogs this artwork as one of the film's original 1996 theatrical campaign designs.

The design is one of those great concept-driven 1990s posters: Michael Keaton's Doug Kinney is repeated across the entire width of the poster, creating a visual army of clones, while Andie MacDowell stands at the end of the line.

That image immediately communicates the premise of the film and makes this a much more recognizable display piece than a generic cast photograph.

Sony's official synopsis confirms the film centers on Keaton's overworked character cloning himself in an effort to balance work, marriage and family life—with increasingly chaotic results.

CONDITION

GOOD TO VERY GOOD DISPLAY CONDITION – ROLLED / NEVER FOLDED

This poster is not as clean as several of the posters we've just gone through, and I would be very transparent about that.

From your photographs I see:

  • No traditional fold lines
  • No visible pinholes
  • Strong, unfaded artwork
  • Clean central character imagery
  • Clean title and billing
  • Noticeable surface waviness / rippling
  • Several light handling creases throughout the white field
  • More noticeable creasing through the lower portion
  • Light edge wear
  • A few small edge impressions / bends
  • Rolled-storage curl
  • No major missing paper visible
  • No large tears visible
  • No tape residue visible

The large amount of white negative space makes the surface waviness more noticeable than it would be on a dark poster, so I would not describe this as Excellent.

I would use:

GOOD TO VERY GOOD

Customer-facing condition description:

This authentic original 1996 theatrical poster has been stored rolled and has never been folded. The poster retains strong color and presents well overall, but does show visible handling and storage wear including surface waviness, light creasing and minor edge wear, particularly through portions of the white background and lower section. No visible pinholes, major tears or significant paper loss are apparent from the photographs. Please review all photographs carefully, as they show the exact poster you will receive and form an important part of the condition description.

The silver pieces visible in the photographs are magnets used only to hold the poster flat while photographing it. They do not puncture the poster.
