DESCRIPTION

This is an original theatrical movie poster produced for the release of Alex Proyas’ acclaimed 1998 science-fiction mystery Dark City.

The poster features the memorable clock-face artwork, with Rufus Sewell’s character positioned against the enormous Roman-numeral clock and the surreal city skyline looming above him. This is the primary theatrical artwork documented for the film.

Directed by Alex Proyas, director of The Crow, the film stars Rufus Sewell, Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Connelly, William Hurt, Richard O’Brien, and Ian Richardson.

This exact U.S. one-sheet format is documented as measuring 27" × 41", with NSS #970126. Period examples of this artwork are known in rolled single-sided format, although double-sided examples also exist.

This is an authentic original movie-theater poster, not a modern reproduction or decorative reprint.

WHY THIS ONE IS MORE INTERESTING

Dark City has developed a much stronger cult following than its original box-office performance would suggest, particularly among science-fiction, neo-noir, dystopian, and Alex Proyas collectors.

You also have several attributes collectors typically want:

• Original U.S. theatrical issue
• 27" × 41" pre-modern one-sheet size
• NSS-numbered theatrical poster
• Rolled rather than folded
• Alex Proyas
• Jennifer Connelly
• Kiefer Sutherland
• Highly recognizable clock artwork

That combination makes this considerably more desirable than a generic late-1990s studio poster.
