This is an original theatrical Version B movie poster for the 2008 science-fiction action film Babylon A.D. starring Vin Diesel as mercenary Hugo Toorop. The film also features an unusually strong supporting cast including Michelle Yeoh, Mélanie Thierry, Mark Strong, Charlotte Rampling and Gérard Depardieu.

The Version B artwork is one of the strongest designs from the film's U.S. campaign, featuring a hooded Vin Diesel walking alone through a rain-soaked, futuristic Times Square / New York City environment. The deep blacks, electric blues and illuminated city advertising give the poster a striking cyberpunk / dystopian science-fiction aesthetic.

The lower portion prominently displays the VIN DIESEL / BABYLON A.D. title treatment along with the August 29 theatrical date. Importantly for collectors, this particular poster is actually marked “VERSION B” in the lower-left printing area, eliminating ambiguity about the artwork variant.

Original Babylon A.D. U.S. theatrical one-sheets are documented as 27" x 40", rolled and double-sided, with specialist poster dealers currently offering original examples in that configuration.

CONDITION

VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT VINTAGE THEATRICAL CONDITION

This poster presents extremely well when viewed as a whole, but I would not call this one Near Mint because the close-up photographs reveal legitimate handling wear.

From the photographs I can see:

• No fold lines
• No visible pinholes
• Strong, dark black levels and vibrant blue/red color
• Clean central artwork
• Excellent image registration and title graphics
• Minor surface scuffing / light scratches, particularly visible in the solid black areas
• Minor edge wear
• Several small right-edge nicks
• A more noticeable short horizontal edge tear/nick along the right side
• Minor handling marks consistent with theatrical poster storage
• Slight natural waviness/curl from having been stored rolled

The central imagery—including the Vin Diesel figure and Times Square artwork—is largely unaffected, so once framed this poster should display very strongly.

The silver objects shown in the photographs are magnets used only to hold the poster flat while photographing it. They do not puncture the poster.
